DIY Body Scrub

Here’s another little something to go with the lotion bars and bath salts we’ve already made. A nice, invigorating sugar body scrub. And don’t worry, it’s a quick and easy project you can whip up this weekend, so gather up the goods and let’s go! You’ll need:

photo (5)The usual suspects: olive oil, Vitamin E oil (optional) and your favorite essential oil. This time, because the scrub is meant to wake up tired skin, I went with grapefruit and spearmint. A heavenly combo. In addition, you’ll need some plain old sugar (sucre is French for sugar, y’all). Note: you can use salt in place of the sugar, but if you have an unsuspecting nick or cut after shaving, you’d literally be rubbing salt in a wound. Not fun.

First, dump some sugar into a bowl. I used about 3/4 of a cup. Then drizzle the olive oil in, adding just enough to make a paste.

To use, scrub on damp skin in a circular motion then rinse off. You’ll be amazed by what a few ingredients from your pantry can do to soften and rev up your skin.  Happy scrubbing!
